Assessment

 Assignment 1 (AT309)

1. Prior to this activity, how would you rank yourself in knowledge about the topic. (1-No Knowledge at all, 2-Very Little Knowledge, 3-Some knowledge, 4-A good amount of knowledge, 5-I knew all about this)

4. This is my third year in UAS. Throughout most of the UAS classes, an e-portfolio has been used to post assignments and write about labs. I have had plenty of experience with e-portfolios.

2. Following this activity, how would you rate the amount of knowledge you have on the topic (1- I don’t really know enough to talk about the topic, 2- I know enough to explain what I did, 3-I know enough to repeat what I did, 4-I know enough to teach someone else, 5- I am an expert)

4. The critique part of this assignment showed me how to look at e-portfolios. I feel like I have a good enough understand that I could give someone good advice about creating one.

3. Did the hands-on approach to this activity add to how much you were able to learn (1-Strongly Disagree, 2-Disagree, 3-No real opinion, 4-Agree, 5-Strongly Agree)

3. I have no alternative to compare to, but I was able to learn the topic sufficiently.

4. What types of learning strategies would you recommend to make the activity even better?

I think the critique would be even easier if their were more examples of bad e-portfolios.

Parachute Folding (AT319)

1. Prior to this activity, how would you rank yourself in knowledge about the topic. (1-No Knowledge at all, 2-Very Little Knowledge, 3-Some knowledge, 4-A good amount of knowledge, 5-I knew all about this)

1. Prior to this assignment, I had no experience in folding the Bramor ppX parachute or any other parachutes.

2. Following this activity, how would you rate the amount of knowledge you have on the topic (1- I don’t really know enough to talk about the topic, 2- I know enough to explain what I did, 3-I know enough to repeat what I did, 4-I know enough to teach someone else, 5- I am an expert)

4. I think I could teach someone how to fold the parachute using my blog post and the user manual.

3. Did the hands-on approach to this activity add to how much you were able to learn (1-Strongly Disagree, 2-Disagree, 3-No real opinion, 4-Agree, 5-Strongly Agree)

5. The hands-on approach of practicing parachute folding outside of class helped students prepare for the test adequately.

4. What types of learning strategies would you recommend to make the activity even better?

This assignment did well enough in teaching the class about parachute folding. The user manual and provided tutorial videos made it easy to learn the process. Making a tutorial video/presentation of our own on parachute folding helped me lock in the information. No change to the learning strategy is recommended.
